On the first Sunday of every month, we collect food and personal hygiene items. We also listen to SECOM regarding their most urgent needs. See below for those urgent items.
In line with Union Ave. Community of Christ’s mission to “Abolish Poverty and End Suffering,” we have supported Southeast Community Outreach Ministry (SECOM) for fifty years.
Their mobile pantry stops here on the first Thursday of the month.

Brookside Elementary School

Brookside supports the academic needs of the neighborhood. We have worked with Brookside over ten years, providing school supplies as well as support for staff.
Throughout the school year, we provide support to Brookside School, helping them achieve their vision and goals.

We offer this free event as a gift to the neighborhood. This provides a place for neighborhoods to get to know each other and make new friends. This is the beginning of Peace.

Holiday Season
People without family do not receive Christmas gifts. Union Avenue provides them for 40-45 people at Thresholds.
Of course, we can’t reach them all.
